First Cousin Once-Removed
Any person who is your first cousin
once-removed must also be:
1) the grandchild of one of your
blood related aunts or uncles; 2) the great-grandchild of one of
your grandparents; or 3) the great-niece or great-nephew of
either of your parents.
Note: There are two
distinct groups of relatives that can be correctly identified as
"first cousins once-removed." The other group is derived
from a lineal relation with a great-aunt or great-uncle.
