Registered Domestic Partner: New Jersey
A Domestic Partner is either one of two
persons who are permitted to file and have actually filed an
"Affidavit of Domestic Partnership" with the local Registrar of
Vital Statistics.
Although there are a variety of conditions
that must exist to allow a proper filing, the qualifications
generally require two unrelated adults of the same sex who are
jointly responsible for each other and reside together with the
intent to maintain a committed relationship. People of
different gender who are over the age of 62 and meet all of the
other requirements may also be qualified to file an Affidavit of
Domestic Partnership.

proper filing which has not been terminated prior to the death
of either partner.
