Registered Domestic Partner: Maine
A registered domestic partner is either one
of two persons who have filed a Declaration of Domestic
Partnership form with the State Office of Vital Records for
legal registration.
This relationship can generally be formed by
consenting, mentally competent adults who have been legally
domiciled together in Maine for at least 12 months and who are
not otherwise married or party to another registered domestic
partnership. Each domestic partner must also be the sole
domestic partner of the other and expect to remain so.
